European Commission speaker confirmed


Mário Lopes Dos Santos of DG Research at the European Commission will deliver a presentation to delegates on April, 19. Not only will Mr Santos update delegates on EU research and development findings in relation to fish welfare and environmental issues, he will also explain the Seventh Framework Programme for Research and Technological Development.

FP7 is the short name for the Seventh Framework Programme. This is the EU's main instrument for funding research in Europe and it will run from 2007-2013. FP7 is also designed to respond to Europe's employment needs, competitiveness and quality of life.

We will all look forward to learning more about this new programme and how it will benefit our industry.
