Responding to the news that Hjaltland Seafarms have been shortlisted for an Aquaculture Today Fit for the Future Award in the finfish category Managing Director Michael Stark said:

"We are delighted... It is testament to the dedication of the entire team and the success that we have achieved over the past two years as we managed to increase our profits substantially year after year to a record level for 2006.

We believe that we have adopted a sound strategy to ensure continued

business growth as we expand our integrated operation from farming, processing, marketing and sales to include value added production. By

December, we will be the only salmon company in Europe that can commence the value added process on the very same day that our fish are harvested."
