
More high profile names for UK premier aqua conference
Some exceptionally high profile names are among the latest raft of speakers to confirm their appearance at the UK’s premier aquaculture event.
Lorna Murray, the Food Standards Agency’s expert on shellfish disease will be speaking during the shellfish toxin management session of the two day conference, which opens in Edinburgh on the 13th of April.
Laura Bateson, from the Scottish Wildlife Trust/ Worldwide Fund for Nature’s joint marine programme, will be contributing the environmentalist’s viewpoint of aquaculture while Frank Asche, from the University of Stavanger, will provide a detailed analysis of the trade war over salmon between the EU and Norway.
Meanwhile Matt Pumfrey, from waste experts Orrtec Ltd, will be telling fish farmers how to cope with the deluge of new legislation on waste disposal coming out of Brussels.
Dr Malcolm Dickson, the technical co-ordinator of Aquaculture Today 2005, said: “I am delighted to be able to confirm the appearance of so many high quality speakers.”
