Pancreas disease has cost the Norwegian and Irish aquaculture industries over 70m


Pancreas disease has cost the Norwegian and Irish aquaculture industries over 70m Euros in recent years, the UK’s top aquaculture conference has been told.

Hamish Rodger, a leading fish vet, told Aquaculture Today 2005 that the disease had caused serious losses.

Pancreas disease destroys the muscles and heart of fish and can cause SDS – sudden death syndrome.

Aquaculture Today 2005 is organised by Fish Farmer magazine.

It is being held in Edinburgh and will finish tomorrow. (Thursday 14th)
